I've never relied on an appliance as much as I do this one! I bought it to replace an old, very basic rice cooker, and I really expected to use my new Rice Plus just for rice. But it does so much more! I've experimented with all of its many possibilities (rice cooking, oatmeal cooking, vegetable steaming, soup making, etc.) and it's done beautifully with every one. I've also experimented with various types of rice, trying kinds I'd never thought of making before, and every one of them has turned out perfectly too. And my Rice Plus works just as well when I'm cooking only for myself as it does when I'm cooking for my family of six. (It can produce as many as eight servings.) So I highly recommend this product and plan to buy it as a wedding gift or housewarming gift for my kids, nieces, and nephews when the time comes.

I purchased this machine when my old ricer broke. Upon receipt, I read the instruction manual and was amazed at the versatility of this multi-cooker! Not only does it cook white and brown rice, it steams vegetables and makes soups. I have used it now several times and it's so much easier to clean than the many old ricers I have had over the years. Lots of bells & whistles but room for improvement - E. Rowe - NY USA
I've had this rice/oatmeal/slow cooker now for 6 months. This machine cooks all kinds of rice extremely well and that's what it primarily was designed to do. You can cook sushi, brown, risotto, etc. rices and they turn out perfect. They also stay warm and perfectly moist if you need to set the keep warm function. The parts remove easily for cleaning.

The easy to read display doesn't tell you how many minutes it will take to cook your rice choice. You have to read through the instruction booklet to find out how long each cycle is. A countdown function of remaining time would have been really nice. The first time I made brown rice my family waited almost 2 hours to eat dinner.

This machine doesn't do the extra stuff very well. I made 1 cup of steel cut (Irish) oatmeal with 2 cups of water in a machine designed to hold 8 cups of water. The frothy water boiled over, out of the steam hole, and into the electronics board. It fried the circuit board. Fortunately the unit comes with a 3 years, no questions asked warranty. Cuisinart sent me a replacement unit for shipping/handling.

The slow cooker function runs on the equivalent of "high" temperature for a slow cooker. They don't tell you that in the user manual. When you use the unit on slow cooker, the first 10 minutes of the cycle sautes whatever you put in the pan. This is useful if you need to brown meat or onions.

I love Cuisinart but this one doesn't live up to the usual quality of Cuisinart products. I have the machine and will use it 'till it dies, but I don't know if I would buy another.

this thing took over two hours to cook 1 cup of brown rice. i finally gave up.






Bad performance - S. Edmiston - Chicago
This cooker took two hours to cook one cup of brown rice and 55 minutes to cook one serving of oatmeal. I just don't have that kind of time to wait for the food. Additionally, the rice was watery, more so than what my simple Panasonic rice cooker would produce.
I called Cuisinart customer service for some help to make sure that I wasn't doing anything wrong as the customer service rep told me he had to contact corporate to see if two hours was too long for rice.

I haven't heard from him in two weeks, so I sent this back to Amazon for a refund.

After researching this mixer compared with others I'm happy with this purchase.

The negative posts about KitchenAid were consistent about the motor burning out. I think this is mostly the fault of the user.
This unit boasts 7 quart capacity, but doesn't power through large capacity recipes. I wouldn't use a recipe that calls for over 8 cups of flour.
At this large capacity the motor pulls through but you can hear the strain. Don't think about making over 2 loafs of bread at a time.
This is probably true for KitchenAid.
I wished this mixer was more solid and heavier like I heard from KitchenAid users. It wobbles during high capacity.
One problem with using mixers is the narrow gap to add ingredients
Here's a tip. For dry ingredients like flour place onto a paper plate and then add it to the mixer.
Use shallow bowls for things like eggs.
The splash guard is pretty much useless.
The New Metro Design Beater Blade for Cuisinart is a must. Worth the something bucks.
The cookbook that comes with the mixer repeatedly says to stop and scrape the mixer and blade. What a PITA! With this blade you rarely have to scrape the bowl and blade.

I cannot compare this to KitchenAid just reiterating what I've heard.
Overall this mixer works great. 4 stars.

I bought a mixer in Nov. 2009 and 2 months ago the motor stopped working and smoke came out. I hate the fact that just because I live ou side of the US, I can not make use of a 2 year warranty. I love the look, feel and power in this mixer. I previously owned a KitchenAid mixer. It was over 35 years old and I dreaded giving it up - but we updated our kitchen to stainless steel and the ivory colored KitchenAid just didn't fit. I planned on buying a new stainless KitchenAid but found out that the newer versions had plastic parts that easily failed. I have only used this Cuisinart to make a large batch of cookies but it did a great job! I can't wait to try making some bread.

I bought this pot over 4 years ago here on Amazon and it has been a wonderful part of our kitchen artillery. I was really surprised to see the reviews of really poor quality. I wonder if they've changed to cheaper materials? My wife and I use it almost every day and although it's not as shiny as it was when it was new(on the inside)food still doesn't stick or burn like it would with a cheap pot. Good basic juicer attachment. Fits on mixer snugly, and doesn't bind, no matter bow hard you press. Because the juicer gets all it's power from the mixer, it's variable speed, which is a nice feature to have.

The only downside is that it's a bit of a pain to get on and off. You have to use the shaft of the juicer to unscrew a cap on the mixer, then use the plastic bowel of the juicer as a wrench to screw the entire assembly on to the mixer. This isn't too bad in and of itself, but I wonder how the plastic bowl will hold up under the stress. They don't make plastic wrenches for a reason ;-). I've had it for a month or two so far, and it hasn't had any problems though.

Lots of conts in one small attachment:
1. Cone of the juicer is so narrow, that it easily squeezes only lemons. May be tiny oranges. But with normal size orange or grapefruit you'd better have very strong hands, since you almost squeeze by them.
2. Mesh of the pulp tray is very narrowed also, so you got no pulp in your juice, but 1/3 of juice stays with the pulp on a tray & there is no chance to separate it.
3. Very loud. As all of them.
Finally I returned it to seller & bought B&D juicer in Walmart for - works just great, no conts at all.

Have now used my new juicer attachment several times and been very pleased. I haven't had the rattling and jumping problem mentioned in another review, just great, quick results. I love the power compared to my older electric citrus juicer, which would slow down and labor when pushed. No sign of flagging with this attachment on my 5.5 quart Cuisinart mixer. Very pleased.






Design flaw? - Jain Dow -
We were excited to buy and use this juicer attachment with our stand mixer, but it rattles horribly when used properly. The problem is that the plastic strainer insert does not rest nicely when the juicer is turned on and the middle cone is spinning. The spinning of the cone also spins a metal bracket that the plastic strainer sits on and as a result the strainer bumps up and down wildly and also loudly. It really seems to be a design flaw or at the very least makes one wonder why someone would design it this way on purpose. The only way we can use the juicer well is to remove the plastic strainer. This also means we have to place the strainer over another container and pour the juiced contents into it to properly strain - what a hassle! I would give it no stars if I could. Cuisinart really messed up on this one.

Waste of money - floralscent -
I rated these thermometers 1 star but would prefer to rate them no stars, if Amazon would let me, since the gauges didn't even move. We had steaks on the grill and we knew they were near done. Put the Cuisinart steak thermometers in them and after 30 second no reading. We put our old digital fork type thermometer in them and they were done. Go figure? These steak thermometers aren't even worth the time you spend thinking about buying them. Horrible product!






Useable, but has a major downside... - Systems_Consultant - Eden Prairie, Mn United States
These thermometers seem to be essentially the same as others I've purchased in the past from different vendors. I wonder if they are all being OEMed from the same manufacturer but with different printing on the dials to customize them for the seller.

One thing that not all the sellers tell you (but Cusinart, to their credit, does in the included instructions) is that these thermometers are not safe to use on your grill in the manner you would expect and desire. Instead they make a big deal about them being dishwasher safe! What is not mentioned on the web page is that you must insert and immediately remove the thermometers once you've taken a reading. You are not supposed to leave them in the meat while it is on the grill and the lid is closed. Apparently these "Outdoor Grilling" thermometers can't take the heat in a grill. I have used another version of these sold under the Taylor brand without knowing about this restriction and they did indeed stop working after a few sessions of being left in the meat while it was grilling.

So, if you find it convenient to insert these thermometers into hot steaks and them remove them (they are also now hot) after a minute or so then you might find them handy. And this particular set of 4 I purchased was reasonably accurate or at least consistent (three read essentially the same in 140 degree water and one was a slight bit low but probably still useable for this application)

I wish I could find somemone who made a grill thermometer that could actually stand up to the heat in a charcoal or propane grill. If that's what you were looking for, then you might want to keep looking...

Solid & well-made, but not quite as advertised - Bob C - San Francisco, CA United States
There were some surprises when I received these pans today. One is that there is a color difference between the inside and outside of the pans that is not obvious in the product photo. The inside is silvery, and the outside is dark gray. I'm wondering how this will affect browning. The other difference is that these are advertised as 2" deep, but they are 1.5" deep. I wanted 2"-deep pans, but will keep these because I can also use this size. The final surprise is that the silicone handles are essentially on the top only; a little bit of silicone protrudes below, to keep the handle in place, but there is not a full handle underneath. A pot holder will be necessary for pulling these out of the oven.

I've owned this pizza cutter for at least a couple of years, and am very happy with the way it cuts through pizza and foccacia bread. It is sturdy and easy to use. No wobbly cutter and the finger guard is good. It cleans well in the dishwasher. The nut in the middle has gone rusty, I just ignore it though. I would've given it 5 stars had it not been for the rusty nut.

I am really enjoying my timer. A minor problem is that the bell ringer is not long enough, and there are no directions. You would have to be an experienced timer user for things needing under ten minutes. I know it sounds silly, but it can go off early if you don't go beyond ten minutes and then bring it down to five minutes. But it sturdy, and useful, and attractive in the kitchen.

I purchased this timer more than year ago. It only lasted a month before it broke. Amazon was good enough to replace it free since I had never returned anything. The replacement timer lasted about a year.

I had a kitchen timer before this that was 35 years old before it bit the dust.

Instead of a loud, long ring, you will get a short quiet ring. probably would work great if the baby is sleeping and you were standing next to it. If that is not the case don't but this timer.
